Receive payments for EV charging
CloudCharge partners with Stripe for secure payments. To be able to receive payments in CloudCharge, you must create a Stripe Express account. Read more on How to create a Stripe Express Account.
Payment methods
With CloudCharge, it is possible to receive payment for EV charging through two methods:
- Direct payment by card
- Monthly invoice
1. Direct payments by card
The user pays for the EV charging when the charging cable is detached, and the charge session ends. The payment is made with the payment card the user has added to their profile in the CloudCharge app. The payment amount (minus the transaction fee) is deposited into your Stripe Express account (including VAT).
2. Monthly invoice
At the end of each month, the user will receive an invoice from you for charging at your Charging System(s) during the previous month. You have the option to add a fixed fee to contribute to or cover your fixed charging facility costs. You determine the size of the fee and can change it at any time.
The user receives the invoice by email with a link to a payment page. The email also includes a copy of the invoice as a pdf file. The user can pay the invoice on the payment page either by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The invoice amount (minus the transaction fee) is deposited into your Stripe Express account (including VAT). Overview of payment flow
- User pays directly or via invoice
- The amount paid (including VAT), minus the CloudCharge transaction fee, is deposited into your Stripe Express Account.
- The transaction statement on the user’s bank account will read “CLOUDCHARGE”.
- Frequently, the money will be transferred from Stripe to your bank account. The statement description on your account will read “CloudCharge payout”

- Status of your Stripe Account:
- Completed: You can receive and payout payments
- Enabled: You can receive and payout payments as of now, but further information must be provided to Stripe for continuous payments.
- Restricted: Immediate action is required! You cannot receive payments or make payouts from your Stripe account. Click on the link on the Stripe page to go to your Stripe account and provide the requested information.
