Fair EV Charging with IMD

IMD stands for Individual Measurement and Billing and is offered in Sweden.

This means that:

• Each user’s consumption (for example, residents in a housing cooperative or rental property) is measured using CloudCharge, whether they share a charging point or have their own. The meter in the charging station accurately measures electricity usage, while CloudCharge ensures that the correct user is billed for the session.
• The actual cost of electricity used for charging is billed individually. Billing can be done via the monthly invoice, through the association’s/landlord’s system, or via a third-party charging management service.

In short: IMD ensures that each user pays for their own charging, instead of sharing the cost evenly among all residents.
